Description
Rebecca Harris arrives at the fog-shrouded Widow’s Walk Inn determined to restore the crumbling Victorian landmark and secure a historic preservation grant. Still mourning the loss of her husband at sea, she steps onto the inn’s namesake balcony only to feel an unnatural chill wind swirl around her, stirring grief she believed she had left behind.
Strange sounds soon fill the empty halls—footsteps pacing above her, a soft voice calling her name through the vents, and a rhythmic tapping behind the locked parlor door. An old guest ledger reveals names crossed out during long-ago storms, and the inn’s brooding groundskeeper, Christopher Bennett, warns her that he refuses to stay after sunset. As the disturbances intensify, Rebecca learns the building was once the site of rituals meant to guide lost sailors home.
With Christopher at her side, Rebecca descends into a hidden cellar and discovers a ritual circle trapping a storm-lost spirit. Together they must decide whether to break the ancient sigils before the next tempest claims the inn—and her soul. In the flickering lantern light of the Widow’s Walk, their shared resolve deepens into a steady, redemptive love.
Set against the crashing Atlantic and the misty cliffs of Oakhaven, this moody Southern Gothic romance follows Rebecca from paralyzing sorrow to fierce hope as she frees the trapped spirit and opens her heart once more.
