Mooncrest Rediscovery: The Last Mile
Stranded by a violent spring snowstorm in the Mooncrest mountains, high-powered executive Angela White crashes her SUV miles from help. Desperate and freezing, she stumbles upon a secluded cabin owned by Jason Wright, a reclusive woodworker who has deliberately cut himself off from the world to escape his past.
Jason’s welcome is as cold as the storm outside. With no cell service and no way to leave, Angela is forced to slow down for the first time in years. As the snow piles higher, the two strangers share a woodstove, simple meals, and long silences that gradually give way to honest conversations about the lives they’ve both lost.
When a massive branch crashes through the workshop roof, Angela and Jason must work together to save his life’s work. In the aftermath of the storm, a tentative connection becomes something deeper. Angela discovers that the man she once saw as a reluctant host is a visionary architect, and Jason realizes the driven woman who arrived on his doorstep may be the partner he never expected.
As the snow melts and the outside world returns, Angela must choose between the career she built and the quiet life—and the man—who showed her a different way to live. Jason must decide whether he can open his heart and his ridge to the woman who turned his carefully guarded isolation into a shared future.
Over the following months, Angela returns to the mountain, they build a permanent home and workshop together, and their love deepens into marriage and a new rhythm of life. In the end, the “last mile” proves to be not the distance Angela drove, but the courage to stop running and claim the sanctuary she found on the ridge.
