A violent winter storm strands a lone traveler deep in the Black Forest, where the only light comes from a swaying lantern held by a solitary man. His cabin offers shelter, but its shadows feel watchful, and a reinforced door hides something that scratches in the night. The lantern keeper is quiet, haunted, and clearly guarding more than just his home.

Drawn to both his quiet kindness and the mystery that surrounds him, she stays as the storm rages—and soon learns the lantern is no ordinary light. It binds restless spirits that would otherwise roam free, a burden passed through his bloodline for generations. As the lantern’s glow begins to weaken and the spirits press closer, she must decide whether to flee or help him face what he has carried alone for so long.

In the frozen dark, fear and longing intertwine. Together they will risk everything to restore the light—or be consumed by the shadows that have waited centuries to claim them.
