Journalist Mara Collins came to Devil’s Hollow chasing a missing hiker, but the remote Appalachian valley seems determined to keep its secrets. The locals won’t meet her eyes, the forest whispers her name, and something ancient watches from the trees. Stranded after her car crashes, she’s forced to shelter in the cabin of Elias Ward, a brooding recluse who warns her to leave before nightfall.

As a violent storm traps them inside, Mara discovers the woods aren’t empty—and the darkness beneath them hungers. The Hollow feeds on guilt and fear, claiming those who carry too much of either. Elias knows this better than anyone; years ago he lost someone he loved to the same force now circling the cabin.
