In 1864 Missouri, Union loyalist Rebecca Collins fights to hold her isolated homestead together while Confederate bushwhackers terrorize the countryside. When she discovers a wounded Union cavalry scout collapsed near her fence, Lieutenant Adam Fletcher begs her not to alert the town—he is being hunted.

Against every instinct for safety, Rebecca hides Adam in her barn and tends his knife wound.
