Premise
Jessica Morgan, a sharp-witted carpenter's daughter from nearby Pine Hollow, returns to the fog-shrouded timber mill in Smoky Summit, her family's faded legacy in the heart of the Appalachians. Scarred by a youthful heartbreak that shattered her trust in forever promises and small-town roots, she's arrived to coldly assess the rotting structure for sale, determined to sever ties and build a life on her own unyielding terms. But she's immediately confronted by Scott Bennett, the mill's rugged foreman, haunted by his grandfather's cryptic tales of lost loggers and his own lingering wounds from a fiancée who abandoned him for city lights, leaving him fiercely protective of the mill's whispering history. When a ruthless county planner arrives to condemn the mill for a highway expansion, Jessica and Scott unearth eerie relics—a 1911 pay stub, vanished crew ledgers, and phantom axe echoes from the ridge—that reveal a century-old mystery of souls trapped in a deadly blizzard. With demolition crews closing in and spectral winds pushing them into each other's arms, they must race to trace the forgotten logging trail, risking unstable ridges and buried secrets, where the stakes couldn't be higher: lose the mill and its haunted heritage forever, or reclaim a shared legacy that could heal their fractured hearts amid the high pines' passionate, pulse-racing call.
