The Widow of Schwarzwald

In the fog-shrouded village at the edge of the Schwarzwald, a young widow keeps her silence and her secrets close. When a brooding detective arrives to investigate a string of disappearances, the villagers’ whispers turn toward her—especially after he learns her husband died under strange circumstances. Drawn to the widow despite his suspicions, the detective soon discovers that the missing are not victims of ordinary violence, but of something ancient and hungry that stirs within the trees.

The widow carries a carved wooden charm once meant to bind the forest spirit—an object her husband died trying to master. Now the spirit’s power is growing, feeding on fear and drawing ever closer to the village. As suspicion hardens into accusation, the widow and the detective must decide whether to trust one another before the darkness claims them both.

Together they confront the entity that has haunted the woods for generations, risking everything to break its hold. In the aftermath, amid the quiet dawn of a forest finally at peace, two guarded hearts find an unexpected home—in each other, and in the land they have saved.
