Description

Elena Brooks, a nomadic nutritionist haunted by the guilt of abandoning her Appalachian roots and the love she left behind, arrives at the derelict Redhaven cannery along the misty shoreline to assess it for a vital community food program. There, she’s rescued from a crumbling pier by Miles Carter, the rugged dock foreman whose heart she shattered a decade ago when she fled their small-town dreams for a city life that proved hollow, leaving him to watch his family’s legacy—and Redhaven itself—fade into ruin.

When a scheming county auditor moves to condemn the cannery forever, eerie phantom clangs and ghostly remnants of Redhaven’s forgotten cooks ignite a race to unearth its culinary history and rally the community for restoration. With the town’s heritage, Elena’s wandering soul, and their rekindled passion on the line amid perilous collapses and spectral winds, this second-chance romance weaves heartfelt redemption, supernatural mystery, and the warm embrace of Appalachian revival into an emotional odyssey of healing fractured hearts and breathing new life into the past.

This one surprised me—once Elena and Miles started digging into the cannery’s old recipes, the story shifted into something warmer and more grounded than I expected, like they were piecing their own lives back together along with the town. The ghost clangs kept things moving at a nice clip without ever feeling forced.
