Description
Lydia has built her life inside the quiet walls of the Boardwalk Pages bookshop, where the scent of old glue and vanilla keeps the outside world at bay. When local historian Julian arrives searching for a 19th-century survey map, he notices the warped floorboards instead of the books, and the fragile peace she has guarded for years begins to crack.
The discovery of a loose board behind the poetry section reveals a 1892 diary hidden in a tin. Its contents threaten the shop’s very existence, showing the boardwalk was built on a lie. With an orange condemnation notice already on the door, Lydia must decide whether to keep her solitude or trust the man who once left Crescent Harbor—and her—behind.
Working through cramped attics, midnight archive raids, and the town council’s relentless pressure, Lydia and Julian confront the unfinished chapter of their own past. Every creaking board and shared flashlight beam forces them closer, until the line between protecting the harbor’s history and guarding her own heart disappears.
As storms batter the pilings and family betrayals surface, the two must choose between running from the truth or building something lasting on the foundation they uncover together.
