Elena Reynolds returns to Serenity Shoals, the coastal Maine town she once called home, carrying the weight of a broken heart from two decades earlier. A talented photographer in her late forties, she plans only a short visit to help her sister pack and leave, determined to keep her emotions locked away while capturing images of the eroding shoreline that mirrors her guarded soul.

A fierce storm destroys part of the iconic boardwalk, forcing Elena into an unexpected partnership with her former love, steady contractor Jack Harlan. Together they must confront a developer determined to replace the historic walkway with luxury condos, even as daily work on the restoration project begins to thaw the ice around Elena’s heart and stir old feelings she swore she would never revisit.
