Description

After a brutal year that left her hands shaking and her spirit hollow, burned-out nurse Sarah escapes to Panama City Beach for a long weekend of solitude. She finds refuge at the quiet, weathered bar called The Driftwood Lantern, where the salt air and steady rhythm of the Gulf begin to loosen the grip of exhaustion.

There she meets Jack, the widowed bartender who serves her without questions and offers the vacant apartment above the bar. Through sunrise walks, late-night conversations, and simple shared routines, Sarah feels the first spark of life she thought was gone forever. The decision to ignore the hospital’s calls grows easier with each passing day.

As a sudden Gulf storm traps them together, buried pain surfaces—Sarah’s grief over a lost patient and Jack’s guilt over moving forward. In the candlelight and rain, they find unexpected comfort in each other’s presence.
