Description
Thick fog rolls into Sweetgum Ridge, bringing unease to Jennifer Carter’s sweet tea stand and stirring up an old local legend known as the Watcher of the Ridge. When a carved wooden token marked with an eye appears and a visiting folklorist is found unconscious, Jennifer is drawn into a mystery that blurs the line between folklore and danger.
Strange symbols appear across town, a stolen journal surfaces, and Jennifer discovers her own family may be tied to the legend through an old letter and a hidden map. With help from Tina, Gregory, and Sheriff Michael Brooks, she follows clues from the town well to a ridge cave, uncovering a 1920s land deed and a man named Mark Stevens who is using the Watcher story for his own ends.
As the fog thickens and warnings mount, Jennifer must separate fact from fiction to protect her town and stand. The investigation leads to a midnight confrontation that exposes a century-old deception and forces the truth into the light.
In the end, the legend is laid to rest, but a new mystery already waits on the horizon.
