After surviving the storm core, Captain Jaxon and navigator Aria return to Stormfell Command aboard the upgraded Stormfire. They receive orders to probe the uncharted dangers of Tempest Reach, a region of violent sky fractures.

Jaxon carries quiet fear that Aria’s growing command of the tempests will one day consume her. Aria harbors a lifelong, unexplained pull toward the fractures that threatens to eclipse the partnership they have only begun to trust.

When a mysterious beacon begins calling to Aria from the heart of the fractured zone, the mission becomes a race against sky creatures, collapsing gravity, and an ancient guardian determined to bind her to the storm forever. Jaxon must decide whether to fight the forces that claim his navigator or risk losing her to a destiny neither chose.
