Description
Julie Harris, a retired high school teacher, steps away from her quiet suburban life to open The Sandglass Café, a one-weekend pop-up book kiosk on Clearwater Beach. With used books, artisan coffee, and hourglasses on every table, she hopes to create a space where travelers pause and connect.
When Robert Lewis arrives searching for an out-of-print history of the Gulf tied to his late grandfather’s journals, Julie joins his quest. Together they follow faded maps and journal entries from the kiosk to a hidden spring, blending the past with their present in unexpected ways.
As a summer storm threatens the kiosk and family pressure mounts, Julie must decide whether to return to her old life or turn the sandglass over for a new chapter. Robert’s search for history becomes a shared journey toward belonging, and the temporary café begins to feel like the start of something lasting.
In the days that follow, two people who thought their best stories were behind them discover that the clearest waters—and the deepest connections—often appear when time is allowed to slow.
