Description
Twenty years after their college internship ended in heartbreak, lawyer Jennifer Clark and architect Matthew Smith are thrown back together in the small town of Oakhaven. A surprise inheritance leaves them sharing administrative control of the struggling Harmony Center youth facility for six tense months, forcing the pair to confront the old flame that never fully died.
Jennifer arrives determined to protect her late aunt’s legacy through decisive legal action, while Matthew fights to preserve the building’s historic character. Their clashes over demolition versus restoration quickly escalate, complicated by a will that demands they work side by side before any sale or renovation can proceed.
Late-night roof repairs, early-morning diner meetings, and a near-accident inside the aging structure begin to chip away at the walls each has built around their hearts. As they navigate board meetings, a major developer’s tempting offer, and the quiet pull of shared memories, Jennifer and Matthew discover that the center’s broken foundation may hold the key to mending their own.
Choosing the town, the kids, and each other means walking away from the high-powered careers that once defined them. Together they rebuild more than a building—they rebuild trust, purpose, and a love strong enough to last.
