Description
In 1864 Arkansas, Confederate widow Nora Whitfield tends her remote Cold Creek homestead alone, navigating scarce supplies and roaming patrols as the war presses closer. Her isolated routine shatters when a wounded Union chaplain, Reverend Samuel Hayes, collapses near her land. Unarmed and hunted, he begs for mercy.
Nora hides him in her barn despite her distrust, tending a deep gash on his side while Confederate scouts search the area. Tension builds through narrow escapes, a move to a hidden cellar, and growing raids by guerrillas. Their quiet connection deepens as Nora questions her sympathy for an enemy and Samuel reveals the burden that separated him from his unit.
